LOCOMOTION SEA ANGLING CLUB
NEW OR POTENTIAL MEMBERSIn the first instance, please contact Phil Campbell (01325 241134) or E-mail Tim Randall ( [email protected] ).
If possible, join us at one of our monthly meetings - on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30 pm in The Dog Inn, near Heighington Village.
The Dog Inn is on the A68 (West Auckland Road) at the junction with Walworth Road, about 1 mile south-west of Heighington. There is plenty of parking behind the Inn. All are welcome at the meetings. The business part of each meeting is usually over quite quickly and there is plenty of opportunity to talk tactics, tell of those caught (or those that got away) and socialise.
New or potential members are made very welcome and given all the information they need to get started.
If you would like a trial boat trip, before joining, this can be arranged providing there is a spare space. See the boat trips page for the dates.
The loan of gear such as a rod, a reel, some rigs and sinkers can usually be arranged for your first trip. Waterproof/windproof clothing is needed, a popular choice being a jacket, over-trousers and Wellington boots. You will also need some bait; talk to Barry or any club member for advice on what to take and how to get it.
Many members who fish regularly wear floatation suits as an additional safety measure.
A 'rough ground' trip is probably the best to choose for a first trip by those with little or no experience since 'wrecking' trips can be very hectic.
Members usually share transport to the port; two or three to a car.
MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONSThe annual subscription is £18. Third-party liability insurance and other benefits can be obtained through membership of the Angling Trust.
A reduced rate of subscription may be agreed by the committee for new members who join part of the way through the subscription year.
